In 2004, MISD entered into a partnership with Oakland University
to provide a Lifelong Learning Program to senior citizens in
Macomb and Oakland counties. These programs focus on
topics which are designed to educate seniors about health issues
and important information to help them sustain a productive
life.
Participants enjoy discussing medical issues and
having questions concerning their health and welfare answered at
these timely sessions. All programs are open not only to
senior citizens but to lifelong learners of any age who want to
stay current on information which enhances life during the later
years.

These
programs reflect the critical issues of today. They are geared to
the interests of county educators, business and community leaders,
and legislators whom we often invite to our presentations.
Participants enjoy a luncheon followed by a discussion involving
key concerns relating to the many crises in education today. This
is a closed program, open by invitation of the superintendent
only. |
