Target Audience: New Teachers (1-3 years)

Description: This interactive course is designed to empower educators with the essential elements of effective science instruction, while also delving into the foundations of the Michigan Science Standards. Participants will explore the aspects that define exceptional teaching in the science classroom, integrating these with the standards to create engaging learning experiences. Through hands-on activities, reflective discussions, and practical strategies, teachers will hone their ability to engage students, foster curiosity, and inspire a love for scientific inquiry.
Any no shows/late cancellations will be charged $15.00 per session.

Please Note: Most sessions are being planned as face-to-face, or a hybrid offerings. If needed, we are also planning fully remote professional learning sessions. If sessions are being offered remotely, the dates and times are subject to change.
Registering for this workshop automatically enrolls you in the 2024-25 Macomb New Teacher Academy.
First, second, and third year teachers are welcome to attend as many 2024-25 New Teacher Academy workshops as they choose for a yearly fee of $150.00. In this spring of 2025, Macomb County districts will be billed $150.00 per teacher participating in the Academy. Please check with your district regarding payment of this fee (whether you are responsible for payment).
The NTA will be providing a light meal before each afternoon workshop. In case of special dietary needs, participants should provide their own meals. Adjustments will not be made in menu selections or registration fees.
This workshop is not eligible for Professional Development Funds.
