Overview
Support and Related Services are available to students with disabilities who are enrolled in a special education program. Special education support services are provided when the services are necessary for the student to meet his or her Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and benefit from special education.
Services
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) services are available to students with an existing Individualized Education Program (IEP) whose physical limitations require therapeutic intervention and/or rehabilitation procedures to support educationally related needs.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy (PT) services are available to students with an existing Individualized Education Program (IEP) whose physical limitations require therapeutic intervention and/or rehabilitation procedures to support educationally related needs. The objective is for the student to be functional, with accommodations, within the educational program environment.
Visual Impairments
Teacher Consultant for the Visually Impaired (TCVI) services are available to students whose vision deficits results in a visual impairment or blindness and is determined eligible for special education services through an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Orientation & Mobility
Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O & M) services are available to students whose vision deficits results in a visual impairment or blindness and is determined eligible for special education services through an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Referral Procedures
Local district Special Education Directors may submit a Form 2 requesting a consultation, evaluation, and/or service to the MISD Support and Related Services Department.
