Event Description

Tutoring is one of the most effective means of lifting student achievement. Research has shown that well-designed tutoring programs can be very effective in improving children’s academic growth. Structured tutoring models with high quality implementation allow tutors to personalize learning experiences tailored to specific student needs. The effects of tutoring programs tend to be the strongest among earlier grades.
The goal of the Macomb ISD tutoring partnership is to maximize academic potential, build self-esteem/motivation, and ensure the academic success of Macomb County students.
Support for this program will come from the Out-of-School Time Grant (OST) carryover funds for 2024 (Grant 32n, 2023-2024).

Please note that districts partnering with the Macomb ISD for the 2024-2025 school year will not be eligible to apply for or receive district level OST Grant (32n)funds for the 2024-2025 year through MDE Michigan Office of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLeap).

District interested in partnering with the MISD for High Dosage Tutoring must register the teachers that will be providing the Instruction.
