Special Education Consultant
The consultant is available to assist directors, school administrators, direct service staff, students and families. Ongoing services are provided as needed throughout the school year.
Some of the ways to support students might include, but are not limited to:
- Observing a student in multiple settings
- Assist with recommendations as needed
- Attend team meetings
- Assist staff with intervention strategy suggestions
- Facilitate accommodations to the curriculum
- Assist in the development of interventions
- Parent Education/trainings
- Peer Education in the schools (disability awareness, information sharing, sensitivity training, etc.)
The Special Education Consultant also oversees the leadership team for the Lakeside Regional Collaborative Network (LRCN), the organization of workshop presentations regarding students with special needs.
Lakeside Regional Collaborative Network (LRCN)
The mission of the LRCN is to provide Leadership, support and resources in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) by establishing a network designed to provide effective practices, training and information for educators, families and agencies throughout the region.
